FAQs About Annual Dinner Party 2009





1. Is the dinner party only for seniors?

No. This dinner party is for all JKC members. Which means, as long as you are Chinese, you are invited. The main objective of the annual dinner party is to create better bonding between us Chinese while having fun. Everyone will get to experience Annual Dinner, on a University level. Of course it will be somehow different from those dinners you had usually attended during high school. So this is a good opportunity for you to relate what campus life is all about. Fun, fun, and more fun. However, there will be one session dedicated to the seniors. The theme had spoken for itself, ‘NIGHT OF GLORY’. There will be an award ceremony. This is to appreciate the contribution of the Chinese super seniors had done towards building our Chinese community.

2. I am a super senior. I don’t think I have contributed to the Chinese community. Why should I go?

There is no such thing as you have not benefited the Chinese community. Everyone do. Doesn’t matter big or small, you have done your part. You are very much appreciated. That is why on this night, you should even more so come. Sit back, relax, and enjoy while we do everything to ensure you have the best time around. We want to create a lasting memory for you on campus even after you have graduated. Super seniors, the team wants to acknowledge your existence. What you experience on the night event, is the fruits that you had sowed over the years.


3. What should I wear?

The team had already posted up a few suggestions on what to wear for the night event. Read up the previous post. You don’t have to spend that much to create that million-dollar look. Just be creative. Make use of the clothes you have now, mix and match ‘em. Maybe an accessory or two might do the trick. That is good enough to make you stand out. On one condition, strictly NO T-SHIRTS or SLIPPERS.

4. I think the tickets are too expensive.

RM50 is the usual standard price for formal dinners at 4-star hotel. The food menu is specially chosen for you. And don’t forget all the fun you will be getting throughout the night. Where else would you get fun and food at this price? The team is working extra hard to make your money worth. Satisfaction guaranteed.

5. So far I haven’t received any memo(s) regarding the annual dinner party. Why?

The team sincerely apologizes to you in this matter. When a memo is posted out, the ‘Send to’ had to be done manually, and there are over 10,000 students in UMP, so it could have been a human error when your name or certain faculties had been missed out. You may notify us of this problem by contacting Ong Hang Chuan (017-7207250) or Phoebe Sam ( 017-6056677). By then, the team will ensure that future memo(s) will also be sent to you. For those who had received the memo, please inform your friends who have not received it. Another option is, you can always log on to http://www.jkcump.blogspot.com for updates on the annual dinner party.

6. Where can I buy the dinner tickets?

The team will be stationed at Payung Putih of KK1 & KK3’s café this Monday to Wednesday 8pm-10pm. You and your friends can buy your tickets there. Do register your name, ID and faculty with the committee in charge when you buy the tickets. Tickets are priced at RM50 (for all Chineses) and RM45 (only for final year seniors) per person.

7. Do I need to find a partner to go to the annual dinner party?

No. You do not need a date to go with you. You can go with your gang of friends, or by yourself. You will be able to meet more new friends there, so no worries. The team will make sure that there is interaction going on throughout the night. But if you have someone special, bring them along. The more the merrier.
